Are you working toward passing the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 to find a job or develop your career in Japan?

Based in Nagasaki, pordo welcomes inquiries from people working in Japan and international students at Japanese language schools, vocational schools, universities, and other institutions. If you are job hunting or hoping to work in Japan after graduation, you are welcome to contact us.

Our online lessons are available to learners anywhere in Japan.

Working toward N2 for Employment or Your Status of Residence

You may need to provide evidence of your Japanese proficiency when applying to work in Japan under the “Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services” status of residence, commonly called Gijinkoku. Passing JLPT N2 or higher is one of the accepted ways to demonstrate Japanese proficiency under the relevant requirements.

However, N2 is not required for everyone working under this status, and passing N2 alone does not qualify you for it. Please check the requirements that apply to you with the Immigration Services Agency of Japan or the administrative scrivener handling your application.

At pordo, we support learners working toward N2, whether they are preparing to find a job in Japan or are already employed.

We will discuss your current Japanese level, learning experience, intended test date, and availability. A Japanese teacher will then work with you to plan suitable lessons.

Our teachers have experience teaching a wide range of learners, including international students and people living and working in Japan. We tailor our support to your learning needs and goals, so please feel comfortable getting in touch.

We offer online lessons throughout Japan and in-person lessons in Nagasaki. You can also ask about intensive exam preparation.

We are not currently enrolling learners in a course with a fixed schedule. Instead, we start with an individual consultation and discuss lesson dates, frequency, and format with you.
